G Power tunes Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe to 705 PS

Merc 1

As if the power output of 585 metric horsepower and 900 Newton-meters of torque were not enough for the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe, German tuning company G Power decided to kick things up a notch as they recently revealed their tuning program for the Mercedes-Benz coupe.

Externally the car keeps its stock bodykit, apart from the lightweight 21-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels that are wrapped in Michelin tires that measure 265/30/R21 at the front and 295/30/R21 at the rear.

It is under the hood where G Power focused its resources mostly. After installing a Bi-Tronik 5 V1 module upgrade to the engine, the 5.5-liter twin turbo V8 now produces 705 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. Its 0 – 100 km/h time has been reduced to 3.8 seconds (3.9 originally) and it now has a top speed of 330 km/h.

To maintain the engine’s original compatibility and integrity, the technicians from G Power retained the car’s motor protection and diagnostic functions. G Power cited examples such as the car not giving maximum power when the engine has not yet reached working temperature, or when power is reduced when the maximum permitted oil temperature has been reached.

The engine upgrade costs EUR 6,898 (about PHP 376,641) while the aftermarket wheels and tires will set you back EUR 9,095 (about PHP 496,600).
