Despite having a high stock PS rating of 300, German tuning company ABT Sportsline has decided to add more ponies on the 2014 Volkswagen Golf R.
At the front, a painted front grille is present alongside headlight covers. Side skirts adorn the side silhouette of the car and an optional tailgate can be opted at the back. The wheels come in 3 designs, the ER-C, the DR, and the CR. Each wheel can come in 18, 19, and 20-inch sizes and are wrapped around in 225/40/R18, 225/35/R19, and 235/30/R20 respectively. Finishing the look of the car is a twin dual exhaust pipe that measure 101mm each and comes with a pre-silencer and axle back exhaust.
Powering the Volkswagen Golf R is the same 2.0-liter TSI inline four cylinder engine that now produces 400 PS and 480Nm. The boost in power is down to the ABT Power S Generation Package that is comprised with a “sport catalytic converter” and S control unit. The company has not divulged the exact figures but has confirmed that the tuned Golf R is capable of reaching a top speed of over 300km/h. Completing the upgrade is a suspension kit that has adjustable front and rear settings; 10-40mm at the front while 20-45mm at the rear.
